Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on Christians to be faithful in the faith that God has given to the church.
The Governor made the call recently at N.K.S.T National Conference which held at N.K.S.T Church, Atukpo near Naka, Gwer West Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, “faith without works is dead. People must wake up to that fact, in order to benefit from God”
He explained that holiness is necessary at all times and not restricted to only when Christians converge for convention or other church activities.
“As we study and hear from God through songs and prayers, we must apply faith and work together. Otherwise we will not get it right,” he said.
He commended the leadership of MIM (Sunday School classes) for their efforts and urged them to continue on this path of truth while praying that God reward everyone who has continued with the work of evangelism.
Speaking at the event, Ter Tyoshin, His Royal Highness, Daniel Abomtse who was confered with an award of strong pillar of the NKST Church, described Governor Ortom as a courageous, fearless and visionary leader.
According to him, “the Governor is a man has stuck his neck in unmasking the ills committed by the government at the centre on her citizens. He is a pacesetter in proffering the needed modern scientific approach to combat the menace of killer herdsmen across the country.”
He informed the governor that lack of adequate and potable water within the site of the conference was a major challenge and appealed for his intervention.
