The senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Progressive Congress (APC) in Benue, Emmanuel Udende, is alleged to have been arrested with assault weapons and security uniforms in Benue.
Udende is the senatorial candidate for Zone A.
According to Facebook users in the state, Bede Bartholomew wrote, “Unconfirmed information reaching me allergies that a senatorial candidate for Zone A has been arrested by security agencies, and in the procession of assault weapons and security uniforms!”
Another Facebook user, Solomon Amande, said, “Bired militiamen in military uniforms suspected to be working for PDP senatorial candidate for Benue Northeast just kidnapped APC candidate, Emmanuel Udende, this evening in Ukum and have taken him to an unknown destination.”
The police in the state have yet to confirm the incident.
