The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has sealed the Pure Bio Tech ethanol company in Benue State over pollution of the Benue River by waste produced by the company.
The State Coordinator of NESREA, Daniel Iormough, who led the team to seal the facility, said the plant violated laws, thereby endangering human and aquatic life.
Some residents of the area lamented that the waste disposal system of the company was greatly affecting humans and the environment, posing greater environmental challenges.
The Pure Bio-Tech Ethanol Company Limited is situated along the Makurdi Gboko Road in Benue State.
