Six persons are reported to have been killed yesterday by criminal gangs at Tse Tyokyaa, Kendev, in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
The criminal elements that have resorted to killing innocent people are said to be fighting among themselves.
According to a source in the area who pleaded anonymity, the crisis was not a communal one but a fight between the gangs.
The source added that after their disagreement, they would resort to attacking villages where their attackers were from.
“This particular one in my village is not a communal crisis. Criminal boys in Ityuluv council ward and those from Ucha have been fighting among themselves, and those from Ucha will come and attack our villages just because they say some boys in our place are a problem to them.
“Nobody knows what their problem is or why they are fighting and keep killing people up and down.”
